Ofsted Inspection

Dear Parents/Carers,

I have pleasure in enclosing our Ofsted letter which we received today. We are delighted that our judgement remains good despite the considerable raising of expectations demanded by schools today. I would like to thank those parents who completed the on-line parent survey and their supportive comments, as well as those who spoke so positively in the playground with the inspector on the 21st February.

Mr. Bywater was particularly impressed with our children whom he spoke with throughout the day. They were enthusiastic and told him at length about their studies and all that we undertake at school. They were a credit to yourselves and our school.

The report is extremely positive and commends the school’s welcoming atmosphere, the safety of children, the breadth of curriculum and quality of teaching and learning for all children across the school. There are two areas in which we need to further develop: reducing the absence of children and those taking holidays during term time; and improving the standard of handwriting and presentation of children particularly in Key Stage Two. These are areas we feel we can work on.

Should you wish to discuss any part of the report please do not hesitate to contact me.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs. J. Cornelius
